Our architectural associate Moses Legaspi recently served as a leader at the Rocky Mountain Youth Summer Camp at Cedaredge Camp, and was part of leading about 350 students over the course of a week to encounter Christ in a meaningful way. Read more after the break!
Q: What is your background and how did you become involved with Movement Youth?
Moses Legaspi: I grew up going to Movement Youth as a student in middle school and high school and have been a leader now for 3 years. I am very involved and it is a joy to mentor and walk alongside all the students. It is so uplifting to see this next generation on fire for God and I'm super excited to be part of what God is doing in the youth and in our country! Q: Tell us a little bit about what happens during the camp. ML: The camp includes all sorts of activities and games and friendly competition among youth groups across Colorado and Utah, and my group actually won! We had a lot of fun, but the biggest impact was the services we had each night and morning with worship, sermons, and alter calls. There was also "family time" where each youth group met and talked about how God is moving in their lives. Q: What are your favorite parts of the experience? ML: I would say the spiritual side of it, such as during family time where I get to see, firsthand, God touching the lives of the students, and see their prayers answered, etc. It is a time of growing close to God and with each other, and that just changes lives.
Here are some statistics from the 4 weeks of camp which includes middle school and high school students:
As the Scriptures say in 1 Timothy 4:12, "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." Praise the Lord for His good work during the camp, and for His hand on these leaders of the next generation! Have questions?
